Getting Started
How do I install LadybugApp on Android?
- Tap Download for Android on our downloads page.
 - When prompted, allow your browser to install apps (one-time setting).
 - Open the downloaded file and tap Install.
 
Play Protect may show a warning for apps installed outside Google Play. Tap Install anyway if you trust LadybugApp.
                  What should I do on first launch?
- Create an account or sign in.
 - Open Preferences and enter your weight (for accurate protein goals).
 - Set your daily reset time if you want your day to roll over at a specific hour (default: 03:00).
 
                  Logging Meals & Intake
How do I log a meal?
Option 1 — From Main Intake
- Go to the Main Intake screen.
 - Choose a category: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack, Supplements.
 - Select a saved item or create a new one by picking ingredients.
 - Tap the green Add button to add it to today's intake.
 
                    Option 2 — From My Cookbook (saved recipes)
- Open Kitchen → My Cookbook and find a recipe you previously saved from My Chef.
 - Tap the recipe, then tap Add to log it.
 - Each tap logs exactly 1 portion, regardless of the recipe's original portion count.
 
Want to log more than one portion? Tap Add again to add another portion.
Logged items appear under the charts on the Home screen and update your daily progress automatically.
                  Can I sort my saved meals/recipes?
Yes. Use the Sort & View button at the top of the Intake screen to choose:
- Default order (as saved)
 - Alphabetical (A–Z)
 - Recently used (items you added most recently)
 - Most used (items you add most often)
 
This changes only how lists display; it won't modify or reorder your saved items.
When does my daily intake reset?
Your "app day" uses a customizable reset boundary (default 03:00). Anything logged before your boundary counts toward the previous day; anything after counts toward the new day. You can change this in Preferences.
Nutrient Goals & Charts
How is my protein goal calculated?
Protein goal is dynamic: 1.2 × your weight (kg). Update your weight in Preferences to keep it current.
What are the default daily goals?
- Fibre: 28 g
 - Calcium: 1200 mg
 - Vitamin D: 20 mcg
 - Magnesium: 550 mg
 - Omega-3: 3500 mg
 - Protein: dynamic (see above)
 
Charts cap at 100% progress. Calcium may show a warning if you exceed safe upper limits.
What happens when I tap a radial chart?
Tapping a nutrient chart opens a detail sheet with:
- Today's progress bar
 - Recent ingredients contributing to this nutrient
 - Common and best food sources
 - Extra tips and an explanation of goals
 
                  Recipes & Kitchen
How do I save a recipe from My Chef?
Open a recipe in Chef screen, Chef's Recipes and Tips section and tap Save to My Recipes. Saved recipes appear in the Main Intake screen under their category. Nutrient values are stored per portion, and the Intake screen uses a light tint to distinguish recipe cards from your own meals.
                  Do recipes affect my daily intake?
Yes. When you add a saved recipe to today's intake, we add one portion's nutrient values to your totals.
Supplements
How do I create a custom supplement?
- Go to Main Intake → Supplements.
 - Tap Add New.
 - Enter nutrient amounts per unit and tap Save.
 
After saving, you can choose to add it to today's intake immediately.
                  How do I edit or delete a custom supplement?
Tap the Edit icon next to a supplement to open it pre-filled. You can update values and Save, or use the trash icon in the top bar to Delete it.
Stats & Streaks
How are streaks handled?
Your streak updates once per "app day" (based on your reset time). If you miss exactly one app day, you'll be offered a one-tap buy-back for 6 Ladybug Points. Missing more than one day resets the streak.
Milestone badges unlock at 3, 7, 30, and 100 days.
What are Ladybug Points?
You earn 1 point the first time you hit each nutrient goal in a day (Protein, Fibre, Calcium, Magnesium, Omega-3, Vitamin D). That's up to 6 points per day. Points can be used to restore a one-day missed streak (6 points).
Account & Preferences
Where can I update weight or reset time?
Tap the ⋮ More (Three dot menu in top right corner) → Preferences.
I need to finish setup—how do I get the link?
Use the Finish Setup action in the app to send yourself a secure link via email. Open the email and tap Finish setup to complete on the website.
Didn't receive it? Check spam, then resend from the app. The link may expire for security.
How do I log out?
Tap the ⋮ More (Three dot menu in top right corner) → Logout. You can log back in anytime.
How do I delete my account and data?
From the app, open the ⋮ More (Three dot menu in top right corner) and choose Delete account. You can optionally ask us to cancel any active Stripe subscription during deletion. This removes your account, personal data, and access.
If you purchased via Google Play, cancel in your Play Store subscriptions. If you subscribed on our website (Stripe), you can cancel in the Stripe billing portal or ask us to cancel during deletion.
Subscription & Billing
How do I manage my subscription?
- Android / Web: More (three-dot menu) → Manage Subscription opens our secure billing portal (Stripe) to update payment details or cancel.
 
                  Are you an Apple (IAP) subscriber?
If you subscribed to Ladybug App through Apple In-App Purchase, manage your subscription in your Apple ID settings:
Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Ladybug App
Open Subscriptions in the App Store
For refund requests of App Store purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com .
Troubleshooting
Android won't install the APK
- Settings → Security → allow installs from your browser (Chrome/Edge).
 - If Play Protect warns you, choose Install anyway.
 - Verify the APK checksum matches what's shown on our download page.
 
My charts didn't update after logging a meal
- Pull to refresh the Home screen.
 - Check your internet connection.
 - Confirm the item shows under Today's Intake on Home.
